This freshman seminar will introduce students to the country of Germany--its political system, social issues, and significant cultural elements. We will discuss political parties, the election system, Angela Merkel, Turkish-German and migration issues, arts and literature, and more. No knowledge of the German language is required for this course.

Karen Feldman is Associate Professor of German. She works on aesthetics, critical theory and literary theory.
