In fall 2004, we combined the long-standing Freshman Seminar Program with the newer Sophomore Seminar Program to form a comprehensive program of offerings called the Freshman and Sophomore Seminars. These seminars come in all shapes and sizes: there are enough models, and enough flexibility, to make it possible for any faculty member who would like to participate to do so. What all the seminars have in common is the sense of intellectual excitement that is generated when faculty and students come together to explore a mutual interest together. All of these classes are also small enough to allow for the interactions that characterize a good seminar.
Berkeley faculty members who are thinking about offering a seminar are welcome to contact the program coordinator, Alix Schwartz 642-8378, firstname.lastname@example.org.
